The most difficult event in grain marketing is motivating the Client to sell as many bushels possible in the top third of the yearly price range and/or as near to the marketing year high as possible. Emotions run high when prices are nearing a top or nearing the fall low. Greed becomes the lead emotion. (We saw it in 2008 and it bit a good number of producers again in 2011.) The "what if" syndrome sets in. The belief and hope that even higher highs are in the cards permeates even the sharpest and most disciplined mind.
